As more organizations operate in various countries throughout the world, human resource professionals are becoming involved with the expansion of global corporations. All these expansions must be planned, managed, and executed. In addition, corporate goals and objectives must be balanced with local customs and labor laws.
The final paper for this course is a Global HR Acquisition Plan to support the international expansion of a large corporation. The purpose of the final paper is for you to culminate the learning achieved in the course by developing a global HR policy to support the planned expansion into a foreign country of your choice. You will need to pick a foreign country for your coursework focus and use that country for all of your weekly assignments. All your weekly assignments will eventually become a part of your final paper.
This week, for this assignment, you will select your foreign country and examine how local factors within that country determine and affect an organization’s expansion.

Research companies that have expanded globally. Try to find information on their globalization efforts and HR strategies.
Select a foreign country to use for your assignment this week and throughout this course.
Research information on your selected foreign country, such as its culture and related business practices.

In your paper,
Summarize the social and business elements of your selected foreign country.
Include items such as the demographics of the people and society, the government, the economy, communications, and education.
Analyze how ethnicity, race, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, and disability impact those social and business elements.
Evaluate the business factors necessary to work and manage effectively in your selected country’s environment.
For example, business factors may include politics, economics, culture, legal system, and so forth.
