This week, you will visit the South University Online Library to research and develop an annotated bibliography of three (3) sources related to either Voltaire’s Candide or Emily Dickinson’s poetry (your choice of two or three of her poems). An annotated bibliography is a references list with citations to scholarly materials (such as articles in journals or chapters in books). Each citation includes a paragraph of summary, relevance, and credibility for the source. To complete the annotated bibliography, you will need to use the South University Online Library to locate three (3) sources about the essay topic you will write about next week (see the Week 3 Literary Analysis for more information). In that assignment you will write about either Voltaire’s Candide or Emily Dickinson’s poetry (your choice of her poems). For each source, create an APA reference. Then, add the annotation paragraph that 1) briefly summarizes the source, 2) tells how you will use it in your essay, and 3) evaluates its credibility. This is an assignment that will require you to spend some time researching, so plan accordingly. The key to locating suitable library sources is to choose appropriate keywords for your search. For example, a student writing about Candide would type “Voltaire Candide” into the search bar. Then, the student chooses three articles to download. The sources can be scholarly journal articles, chapters in books, eBooks, or credible online materials. Librarians are available to help you with your research.
