defining and discussing the differences between race and ethnic groups.

this paper is to be 1.5 pages long. I will provide what I’ve already written.
In this essay we are going to determine what is race and what are ethnic groups, and how both differ when compared to one another.
As defined in the book, Strangers to These Shores, “Race is a categorization in which people sharing visible biological characteristics regard themselves or are regarded by others as a single group on that basis.” Many groups of people in various regions of the world can be of the same race. Africans and Europeans are a good example of this. In their respected continents many people belong to the same race because of physical features, being their hair texture, the average build and height, eye color, and arguably the lineage of their ancestry. All of which are attributed to the migration and emigration of their ancestors to each respected parts of the world. Another example how race can differ from ethnic groups is due to racism. For instance, further in the book, it defines racism as “the linking of biological conditions with alleged abilities and behavior to assert the superiority of one race.” Races are clash against each other because of one race believing that their race is superior to another race because of inherent qualities or particular accomplishments and can distinguish the believed to be lesser race by their own perceptions of being less fortunate. Leaving them to experience enmity as a result of these societal classifications based only on physical attributes.
